Tuesday, November 27, 2018

Last night we held our Celebration of Sport Evening where we acknowledged students for participation and outstanding performance in Sport throughout 2018.
Melbourne AFL player, Neville Jetta was our guest speaker. He is widely recognised for his contribution and role in working to support Indigenous youth, through various school based programs. This year he was awarded the Jim Stynes Award for his outstanding dedication to community service.

Congratulations to all our recipients for their awards. This year our year level Sportswoman recipients were:
Year 7 - Georgia Asmanis
Year 8 - Grace Pengelly
Year 9 - Katia Taranto
Year 10- Alyssa Pizzi
Year 11- Krstel Petrevski
Year 12 -Christina Pizzi

Aristea Vorenas was the recipient of the Bronwen Cassell Sportswoman of the year award. This award recognises the outstanding contribution a student has made to the sports program over her time at Mercy College. This means the student has not only been selected to represent the College in a variety of sports, but she has also played a significant role in the teams in which she has played.
